Michelle Belton Renews Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP®) Credential, Reinforcing Companion Home Care's Commitment to Excellence

Continuing education and specialized dementia training remain at the heart of the care we provide.

At Companion Home Care, we believe our clients deserve caregivers who never stop learning. That commitment to professional development is one of the reasons we're proud to announce that owner Michelle L. Belton has successfully renewed her Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP®) credential through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP).

Michelle first earned her CDP certification in 2010 and has maintained the credential ever since through ongoing continuing education and professional development. Her recent renewal reflects more than just maintaining a certification—it represents an ongoing commitment to staying current with the latest research, best practices, and person-centered approaches in Alzheimer's disease and dementia care.

The Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP®) designation is recognized throughout the healthcare industry as a mark of advanced knowledge and dedication to quality dementia care. Professionals who maintain the credential must continue their education and remain engaged with evolving standards of care, ensuring they are equipped to provide the highest level of support to individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

Since founding Companion Home Care in 2004, Michelle has made dementia education a cornerstone of the company. Every caregiver receives specialized Alzheimer's and dementia training, allowing our team to provide compassionate, knowledgeable care tailored to each client's individual needs. That philosophy has helped Companion Home Care become one of the Roanoke Valley's most trusted providers of senior home care and memory care services.

Over the years, Michelle has continued to expand her expertise through additional certifications, including becoming a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CMDCP) and an Alzheimer's Foundation of America Certified Dementia Care Partner (DCP). She has also completed professional End-of-Life Doula training, further strengthening Companion Home Care's ability to support clients and families during every stage of the aging journey.

"Continuing education isn't just about earning certificates," Michelle says. "It's about giving our clients and their families the confidence that they're receiving care based on the latest knowledge, compassion, and proven best practices."

As Alzheimer's disease and related dementias continue to affect millions of families across the country, Companion Home Care remains committed to investing in education, training, and excellence in caregiving.

Congratulations to Michelle on renewing her Certified Dementia Practitioner credential and for her continued dedication to providing exceptional home care throughout the Roanoke Valley.
